Day 2 (Monday)

February 26, 2007

After a long day, starting with a workout at 5:30, my day is over. Today was a low key day with a lot of waiting around for windows to work in. I did get to meet some new people but dinner was once again by myself. I did happen to have a great dinner at Saddle Creek Woodfired Grill. This was highly recommended by a coworker and it did not disappoint. I had a wonderful salmon steak prepared on a cedar plank. Presentation was excellent, the salmon sat on the cedar plank propped up on the side dish of garlic mashed potato. All of this was topped by grilled asparagus and garnished with diced tomatoes mixed with garlic. Everything tasted as good as it looked. The salmon had a rich slightly fatty texture and a very good, but not overpowering, taste of salmon. The mashed potatoes tasted like potatoes with a hint of garlic. The garnish also rounded out the dish by adding a stronger taste of garlic mellowed slightly by the tomatoes. The Diamond Bear Pale Ale was refreshing while not being overly bitter with an abrupt finish. An excellent dinner to finish off Monday.
