Restaurant Review: The Kitchen Lounge
I have wanted to go to The Kitchen Lounge since I read a review in the Dispatch last August. The place did not disappoint. I had the Cajun Jambalaya. It had a thick consistency with cayenne seasoned chicken and sausage mixed in rice, tomatoes, and a tasty blend of spices. It was pleasantly hot without being too much so. Both my Dad and I loved it. Erica had the grilled cheese (cheddar, blue, and tomato on Texas toast) and fries. That did not disappoint either. The cheeses were melted together covering the fresh tomato. The bread was perfectly toasted. The fries were fresh cut shoestring potatoes; well fried without being burnt. They were served with malt vinegar and ketchup to round out the taste. Erica said it was very good. She would know being a bit of a grilled cheese connoisseur. The special was extremely tempting too; all you can eat quesadillas. You could have as many quesadillas as you like; all made to order. My brother Mike got that for his birthday. He liked that dish quite a bit. The Kitchen Lounge also features half price drinks for happy hour until 7pm. It was the best of all worlds, cheap and extremely good.
